Whether you’re new to church, have been a Christian for many years, or are looking for a fresh start, you’re welcome here. Our hope is to give you a place where you experience a fresh, enjoyable connection to God and a community of people. We keep our focus simple so we can have the biggest impact possible. Everything we do as a church is filtered through our focus on helping every person live the full life for which God created all of us.
God wants to know us personally. Whether you’re new to faith, have questions, or have been a Christ follower for a long time, our services are a safe place to learn more about what it means to know God and grow closer to Him.
One of the ways God designed for us to live in freedom is to have people in our life to help us in the journey. Connecting with others in Champions Small Groups is a practical and enjoyable way to find that kind of life-changing community.
We’re all an important part of God’s plan, and our life will never make sense until we discover our purpose. With opportunities to attend weekly, the Champions Growth Track is designed to help us take steps in the important process of discovering our purpose.
This is God’s ultimate plan for our life — to make a difference in the lives of others. Through the Dream Team, we hope to connect every person to an opportunity to live out their calling by using their gifts and talents to serve others in the church and the community.
Pastor Chase grew up with Champions — he started preaching in youth services at 12 and in the adult weekend services at 22. He has served in various roles at Champions throughout the years. Having obtained a degree in Biblical Studies, Pastor Chase became the senior Pastor in October 2018. Pastor Liliya was born in Estonia and, along with her family, moved to the United States when she was a young child. She has served in various ministry capacities all of her life, most recently as part of a Pastoral team in FL, where she helped establish a thriving church. She moved to Houston after marrying Pastor Chase in June 2018.
Pastor Steve was born the son of a carpenter and a homemaker in Lubbock, TX, in 1953. Unsure of what the future held for him, he left home at age 16. Within a decade, he met Pastor Cyndi, and began a 15-year journey of overcoming addiction, serving in ministry, and, eventually, founding Champions in 1993. Pastor Steve retired in October of 2018.
Pastor Cyndi is the daughter of ministers, her parents having pastored churches, and preached the Gospel all over the world. She became passionate about Jesus at an early age. She has served in wide-ranging ministry areas throughout her life, from driving children to church as a teenager to founding Champions alongside Pastor Steve in 1993.
Pastor Matt is passionate about praise, worship, faith, and Houston sports. Sensing the call to encourage people during difficulty and call them into a deeper relationship with Jesus, he is a tremendous voice of hope at Champions, and in churches all around the world.
The Bible is the inspired Word of God. It is complete truth, without error and is completely relevant to our daily lives. (II Timothy 3:16)
We believe in one God who exists as Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (John 14:18-27; II Corinthians 13:14)
We believe in the Virgin Birth, the Begotten Sonship and Deity of Jesus Christ. That He was God and Man. (I Timothy 3:16; Matthew 1:23)
We believe it is the will of God that each believer be filled with the Holy Spirit and speak with new tongues. (Acts 1:8; 19:1-6)
We believe in the salvation of sinners by grace, through repentance and faith. (Ephesians 2:8-9; Hebrews 9:12, 22; Romans 5:11)
We believe in the necessity of water baptism by immersion in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ. (Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:38; 10:47-48)
We believe that every believer is given power to live a victorious, overcoming life by the Holy Spirit. (Romans 12:1; II Corinthians 7:1)
We believe in the operation of the gifts of the Spirit individually and corporately. (I Corinthians 12-14)
We believe that divine healing through the redemptive work of Christ is available for every believer. (II Timothy 3:16)
We believe in the table of the Lord commonly called communion or the Lord’s Supper, for believers. (I Corinthians 11:28-32)
We believe in eternal life for believers (John 5:24, 3:16) and eternal punishment for unbelievers. (Mark 9:43-48; II Thessalonians 1:8-9; Revelation 20:10-15)
When you enter the building, make a right towards the Champions Kids area, and follow the signage or ask someone to help you find your way.
When you enter the auditorium, it will most likely be dimly lit, and the music will be pretty loud. We do this so that you can focus on your worship – on Jesus – and not on the person next to you. If you find that the music is a bit too loud for you, we do provide earplugs in the lobby. Just ask an usher or greeter. The atmosphere is that of a concert. Everyone’s excited to be there, happy to shake last week loose and make a little noise to start the week off right. Our Worship Team performs a mixture of contemporary worship music and Gospel, with a live band at 9:30 and 11:15 am each and every Sunday.
The message is straight out of the bible – taught in a practical, applicable way with relevant analogies and a genuine sense of humor. “What do I wear!!?” Whatever you want. Some folks are in their Sunday best and others are in sweats and slides. Whatever makes you feel comfy – wear that. During our worship services, Pastor Chase Austin will dig into the Word of God, the surroundings, theology, and backstories of the men that made Jesus famous, and how it applies to your everyday life. When Associate Pastor Matt Austin preaches, it will be an electric atmosphere, focused on overcoming what we face every day but are often too proud or scared to admit openly.
